Liberty Meals on Wheels delivers much more than just a meal to its recipients. At the core of our service is a nutritious meal, friendly visit and safety check for seniors living within the city limits of Liberty. Meals are delivered by our amazing group of permanent and substitute volunteer drivers who donate their lunch break to help recipients in need.

The Liberty Silver Center, located in the Liberty Community Center, is a place where older adults (60+) come to socialize, participate in activities and special events, and enjoy a hot nutritious meal. The Silver Center is currently closed but they are offering virtual programs.

Offering transportation for adults 60 and older to doctor appointments, the grocery store, pharmacy and Silver Center to those within the city limits of Liberty free of charge. Physically challenged individuals (ages 18-59) who do not have access to their own transportation may also utilize Liberty Access for a nominal fee.

The Liberty Silver Center and Three Rivers Hospice have teamed up to offer a free grief support group to area residents. Grief can leave you feeling isolated or lonely. This group provides:
a supportive atmosphere where participants can share experiences
Learn techniques to help navigate life after the loss of a loved one.
A path to experience healing and discovery.
New members are welcome to join at any time. The group meets from 9-11 a.m. on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at the Liberty Community Center. Space is limited and masks are required.

Originally organized by the Christian Women’s Fellowship groups and Church Women United in Clay County a number of years ago. The World Outreach Committee provides a box for donations and takes the clothing donated to the Clothes Closet in Kansas City North to be distributed to those that need it. School Children are a primary focus. Must be referred by social service organization, church, or school. Open Every Tuesday by Appointment.

Public Health programs that include: Primary Care and Preventative Health Care; Dental Health Services; Speech and Hearing Services; Environmental Health Services; Health Promotion/ Health Education Services; WIC, Immunizations, TB, blood pressure and diabetic screening, child health conferences, family planning, HIV/AIDS screening and counseling, dental screenings, speech and language screenings and therapy. Most are free, some on a sliding scale fee, WIC program available to women, infants and children. Environmental and community programs for sewage disposal, complaint investigation, food inspections, day care inspections, food handler’s instructions, school instructions, swimming pool inspection, surveillance of private water supplies, disaster information, rabies surveillance, lead assessments and vital records (birth and death certificates).

Investigation and referral for services concerning child abuse. Foster care, foster and adoptive home approvals and referral for counseling. Financial assistance for eligible day care recipients.
